David Sabetay developed a program for kids that talks about friendship, overcoming adversity, problem solving and added a section addressing suicide. The driver behind the program was to support the difficulty that children 12 – 18 years of age experience during their developmental years. The section on suicide prevention was added to address the pain David saw in the interaction with the children during his 18 Principles sessions. David’s goal is to take the program nationally to middle and high school students as well as to other institutions. In order to do this, he created a nonprofit organization to support these efforts.

During the program he has the children draw or paint a picture and write an essay to go with each associated attribute. Over time the best of those submitted works will be published and used for fundraising efforts to further the message of the 18 Principles and support those schools that participate in the program.
